Dog Days of Summer

The warm summer breeze definitely blew through the hair of the two dozen Old English Sheepdog that attended our 22nd Annual Rescue Parade on September 27th, 2015 at the Burbank Kennel Club Dog Show.
Temperatures soared to over 100 degrees for the three days before our parade but eased up on our big day. Our silent auction was off to a rousing start on Saturday and left few auction items for Sunday. But never fear, we had plenty of OES related items to keep all our parade goers busy buying items to support the rescue at our booth. Thanks to all the wonderful people who supported the booth over the weekend, we only had one box to take home! The New Age Pet Product crates, window boxes and litter loos were a huge success!
Just before the groups, it was time for the parade. AKC judge Marilyn Mayfield presented ribbons to each Rescue Parade dog after they strutted their stuff gaiting around the ring! Marilyn is President of the Burbank Kennel Club and a long-time supporter of OES Rescue of So. CA. The show site offers us such wonderful shade that everyone seemed to arrive early and stay late. It was such fun to visit with all the owners and rescue dogs.
Thanks to OESCA members Florence Narron, Kristi and Marilyn Marshall, Diane Reynolds, Christine Pesche, and Linda Zimmerman for coming out for the parade. We do appreciate your help and it was great seeing you.
It is so overwhelming to realize that this was our 22nd Annual Rescue Parade and so many OES have gone through our program. We sure enjoy seeing the rescue boys and girls show off their owners!
Please help us keep our doors open to Old English Sheepdogs in need!
